Plans and top-ups
Free, Starter, Pro and Business — what each one gives you, how one-time top-ups work, and what happens to your balance when you cancel.

Unyo runs on credits. A plan gives you a pot of credits every month. A top-up adds credits that never expire. That's the whole model.
If you want to know how credits get spent — why reading your inbox is free and publishing a post isn't — read Credits and billing first. This page is about what to buy.
Start free — 2 500 credits, no card
Every new account gets 2 500 free credits at signup. No card, no trial timer, no "free for 14 days then we charge you".
Roughly, that's:
- ~125 chat turns with an agent, or
- ~16 generated images, or
- ~100 edits to a website Steve is building for you
— and you can mix them however you like. The tools themselves — reading your inbox, searching your Neural Core, drafting a post, planning a task — cost zero credits: 73 of our 105 priced tools are free. You only pay for the agent's thinking time on the turn, plus anything that gets generated or leaves the building.
The free grant is one-time
Your 2 500 credits are granted once, at signup. They do not refill next month. When they run out, you'll need a plan or a top-up to keep going. We'd rather tell you that on day one than let you discover it on day thirty.
The three plans
| Plan | Price | Credits / month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $39 / month | 25 000 |
| Pro ⭐ | $99 / month | 80 000 |
| Business | $249 / month | 250 000 |
Prices are shown in your own currency. Our catalogue is USD with EUR at parity — a European buyer sees €39 / €99 / €249, not a wobbly converted number that changes with the exchange rate.
- Starter — for getting started with day-to-day work.
- Pro — for regular use across all your agents. Most people land here.
- Business — for heavy, business-wide automation.
The bigger the plan, the better the rate — deliberately.
Every plan has every feature
Plans differ by how many credits you get, not by what you're allowed to do. All 10 agents, the Neural Core, automations, the website builder, documents, spreadsheets, every integration — they're on the free plan too. There is no "upgrade to unlock". You're buying capacity, not permission.
Your monthly credits reset — they don't roll over
On a paid plan, your allowance is refilled on your monthly anniversary. Refilled, not added: if you finish the month with 3 000 of Pro's 80 000 credits left, you start the next one at 80 000 — not 83 000.
You can see the exact date under Settings → Subscription → Next billing date, formatted in your own timezone. Settings → Credits shows a live countdown to the reset — days, then hours, then minutes as it gets close.
If you don't want to lose the surplus, that's exactly what top-ups are for.
Top-ups — credits that never expire
A one-time purchase. No subscription, no card on file, no renewal.
| Top-up | Price | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Recharge S | $10 | 4 000 |
| Recharge M ⭐ | $25 | 12 000 |
| Recharge L | $50 | 30 000 |
Two things make top-ups different from your monthly allowance:
- They never expire. They're not reset, not clawed back on renewal, not lost when you cancel. They sit there until you spend them.
- They're spent first. Every run drains your top-up balance before it touches your monthly quota. There's no toggle to remember and no way to get this wrong — the order is enforced in the database, not in a setting.
That second point matters: it means a top-up is never wasted. Your perishable monthly credits are protected until the permanent ones are gone.
Top-ups cost more per credit than a plan — on purpose
Even the biggest top-up is a worse rate per credit than the smallest plan. Top-ups are for covering a spike, not for living on — if you're buying a Recharge L every month, Pro gives you far more credits for the money.
How to subscribe
- Open Settings (the gear in the sidebar) → Subscription.
- Click Upgrade — or Change plan if you're already on one.
- Pick Starter, Pro or Business on the Plans tab.
- Checkout opens in a new tab, handled entirely by Stripe. Your email is pre-filled. Unyo never sees or stores your card.
- Pay, then come back to the Unyo tab and press I've paid — refresh.
Your credits usually land within a few seconds of payment. If the out-of-credits screen was up, it closes itself the moment the balance goes positive — no reload, no logging out, no support ticket.
How to buy a top-up
- Open Settings → Credits.
- Click Get more credits.
- Choose the Top-ups tab and pick S, M or L.
- Pay in the new tab, come back, press I've paid — refresh.
You do not need a subscription to buy a top-up. A free-plan user who's spent the 2 500 grant can buy a Recharge S and keep working.
Always start checkout from inside Unyo
Launching checkout from the app attaches your account id to the payment, which is what lets us credit the right account instantly. If you pay through a link someone forwarded you — outside the app, with a different email — the payment can land without an account to attach it to, and it takes a human to sort out.
Managing and cancelling
Settings → Subscription → Manage billing opens Stripe's own Customer Portal, where you can download invoices, change your payment method, or cancel. It's Stripe's page, not ours — we don't handle your card details at any point.
Cancelling does not wipe your balance
When you cancel, your plan goes back to Free and the monthly refill stops. But the credits you already have stay yours — both what's left of this month's allowance and every top-up credit you ever bought. You keep spending them until they run out. We don't confiscate what you paid for.
What happens when you run out
You get told, clearly, instead of hitting a silent failure or a half-finished job.
At zero credits, Unyo shows a full-screen message: "You're out of credits — choose a plan or top up." It doesn't dismiss, because there's nothing behind it that would work. It offers exactly three exits: choose a plan / top up, Settings, or Log out.
What it never blocks:
- The public site, the sign-in pages, and shared file links — anyone you've shared a file with is unaffected by your balance.
- Your data. Nothing is deleted, throttled or held hostage. Your Neural Core, conversations, documents and connections are exactly where you left them. Add credits and everything resumes.
And if our billing system itself has a hiccup, the gate fails open — your work runs. We only stop you on a genuinely empty balance, never on our own outage.
Watching what you spend
Settings → Credits is the real picture, built from your actual committed usage:
- N credits available — your monthly balance plus your top-up balance.
- Used today · Used this month · Remaining this month · Bonus credits, bucketed in your own timezone.
- A 26-week heatmap — one square per day, hover any square for the exact credit count.
Tips
- Try before you subscribe. 2 500 free credits is enough to build a real website with Steve, draft a week of posts, and triage your inbox. Find out what you actually use before picking a tier.
- Buy the plan, not the top-ups. Every top-up is a worse rate per credit than every plan.
- Watch the first month's heatmap, then size your plan. Most people over-estimate.
- Downgrade freely. Nothing gets locked when you move to a smaller plan — you just get fewer credits.
- Failed work costs nothing. A failed publish, a failed image, a crashed run: refunded automatically, every time. You don't need to ask.
What does Pro unlock that Starter doesn't?
More credits — 80 000 instead of 25 000, at a better rate per credit. That's it. There are no Pro-only agents, tools or integrations. Every feature works on every plan, including free. You're paying for capacity, not access.
Do my monthly credits roll over?
No. Your allowance is refilled to the plan amount on your renewal date, not topped up. Unused monthly credits are gone. If you want credits that survive the month, buy a top-up — those never expire, and they're spent before your monthly quota so they're never wasted.
What happens to my credits if I cancel?
You keep them. Your plan reverts to Free and the monthly refill stops, but your remaining balance and all your top-up credits stay in your account and stay spendable until you use them up. After that you'd need a new plan or a top-up to continue.
Can I buy credits without subscribing?
Yes. Top-ups are one-time purchases with no subscription attached — $10 / 4 000, $25 / 12 000, or $50 / 30 000 credits. Buy one from Settings → Credits → Get more credits. They never expire. Note that the per-credit rate is higher than any monthly plan, so if you're buying them often, a subscription is cheaper.
Do I pay in dollars or euros?
Whichever is yours. Our prices are listed in USD with EUR at parity, so a European buyer is charged €39 / €99 / €249 — the same figure, not a fluctuating conversion. Checkout shows you the real amount in your currency before you confirm.
Am I charged per message?
No. You're billed on what the work actually costs to run, so a one-line question costs a fraction of a long research task. Reads, searches, drafts and plans are free. See Credits and billing for the full breakdown.
Troubleshooting
I paid but my balance hasn't changed. Press I've paid — refresh on the credits screen. Credits normally arrive within a few seconds of payment. If a second refresh still shows nothing, check the email on your Stripe receipt matches your Unyo account email — a payment made under a different email can't be matched to your account automatically and needs to be reconciled by hand. Contact us with the receipt.
"Manage billing" sends me back to the plans screen instead of opening Stripe. The Customer Portal finds you by the email you paid with. If that differs from your Unyo account email, there's no customer record to open and we fall back to the in-app plans view rather than showing you an error. Get in touch with your receipt and we'll link the two.
Checkout doesn't open. It opens in a new tab — check your pop-up blocker and allow pop-ups for unyo.app, then try again.
I'm on a paid plan but I've run out before my renewal date. Your allowance is monthly, not daily — there's no nightly reset to wait for. Either buy a top-up to bridge to your renewal date, or move up a plan (the credits apply immediately). Check Settings → Credits to see where they went.
I got charged for something that failed. You shouldn't have been — every paid action refunds automatically on failure. If a run was hard-killed mid-flight, the reservation is swept back to your balance automatically within a few hours. If a failed action is still showing as spent the next day, send us the day and we'll look.
